JAMIE KRENN, FOUNDER

Jamie holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Studies from Teachers College, Columbia University, as well as three master's degrees in cognitive science and developmental psychology. Her research interests include cognitive media processing, creative curriculum development, social media, and culinary cognition. 

She is also a very silly mother who lives near New York City. She grew up in upstate New York, where she spent her days riding ATVs, picking wild black raspberries, and gazing up at tall trees, all while never missing Saturday morning cartoons or Batman: The Animated Series. She loves eating at fancy restaurants and will never pass up a good taco truck. She enjoys hanging out with her daughter, often talking about superhero movies, going hiking, completing puzzles with fewer than 300 pieces, and practicing archery. She loves cooking, fair play, really tasty food, and terrible jokes..

Jamie is a full-time mom who teaches at Columbia University’s Teachers College, Sarah Lawrence College, and Siena College, while working as an educational media consultant. She’s an expert who knows firsthand that there aren't many tools to support caregivers and educators navigating media. She hopes to share her experience and training with others in food, parenting, psychology, and product development.
